Student Veterans of America |
SVA is a 501(c)(3) coalition of student veterans groups on college campuses across the globe. These member chapters are the "boots on the ground” that help veterans reintegrate into campus life and succeed academically. Each chapter must be an officially recognized student group by their university or college and provide a peer-to-peer network for veterans who are attending the school. Additionally, chapters often coordinate campus activities, provide pre-professional networking, and generally provide a touchstone for student veterans in higher education. Thanks to everyone who came out to the Washington D.C. Leadership Conference on Saturday, September 22. It was a great success. Many different schools were represented including American University (which hosted the event), George Washington University, Old Dominion University, Georgetown University, the Community College of Baltimore, Hagerstown Community College and many others. Students workshopped chapter mission statements, collaborated on problem-solving scenarios, networked, heard from a panel on veteran career success, and, had the opportunity to speak with retired four-star General, George W. Casey.
Don’t worry if you were not able to make it to this summit. We are also hosting summits in Kentucky, Michigan, and Colorado!
